Dear shoppers,

The first two weeks of "back to school,"  be it remote or in-person, are always an adjustment. After the lazy, rambling days of summer, suddenly everyone is on a schedule. For class. For bed. And for dinner.

Cut yourself some slack and make this perfectly-timed, easy peasy sheet-pan chicken with roasted plums and onions.

Or, why not pick up some of Two Birds Provisions new summer rolls which actually, er, kill two birds... they will help you eke out the last few flavors of summer while making dinner a snap. But you must pre-order them as they will not have extra at the market.

Selek is bringing a beautiful assortment of Middle Eastern salads and dips as well as his baked falafel which is a bonafide hit. And, you can pick up some eggplant lasagna from Anthi's Greek Specialties or some Rockin' Moroccan chili from Homespun Chili. Or some lobster ravioli from Bambino.

As a farmer's market, our mission first and foremost, is to encourage cooking using fresh market ingredients. But we do appreciate that some days, and especially these days, it's just too much and we're happy we have options for you that are prepared locally and have passed our "taste" test.

Should you want to try cooking something exciting and new, however, Wil-Hi Farm will be bringing a new item: 2 lb. bags of marrow bones for $7.50. Never roasted marrow bones? You're in for a treat. Use this straightforward recipe.(Careful, do not give these to your dog post-dinner, as lamb bones tend to splinter.) They are also bringing their line of autumn soaps and their coveted sheepskins. Since you are probably going to be working from home for a while, you might consider purchasing one for your home office chair...or for your dog to stay cozy at your feet while you work (and to make up for the bone).

American Bow Knife returns with their handy dandy mezzalunas, so safe to use with little ones in the kitchen.  Their bread knives are just the thing for slicing into a crisp pain de campagne from Bien Cuit bakery.

Hive Juice has a new "spill"  for the new season: Carnelian is chockfull of carrots, blended with apple, lemon, turmeric, and black pepper.  It is a beautiful shade of orange and has quickly become my new HJL favorite. And when you're tied to your computer and can't step away for lunch, you'll be glad for this nutritious "liquid" meal.

A word to the wise: Doc Pickle will be away NEXT weekend due to Rosh Hashanah.  Please plan your pickle purchases accordingly.

Silvia's Kitchen is bringing her delicious South American treats to reward any student (or teacher!) stuck to a screen all week!

See you at the market!
