In the good news department...

It should be a lovely day on Saturday to shop at the market, temperature-wise. Morgiewicz Produce won't be joining us until June but we did hear from Sophie Morgiewicz last week. The 80-something matriarch of this multi-generational Goshen farm texted to tell me she was the proud great-grandmother of baby Michael Joseph Morgiewicz. "I am in my glory," she wrote. "I'm so grateful to be here for this."

In other baby news, Ryan and Melody from R & M Farm are having a baby in May, another daughter.

This week we bring you a recipe from the Ukraine: a white borsch courtesy of Gabrielle Hamilton, of Prune fame. You should be able to find the leeks, potatoes and kielbasa (from R & M or Mangalitsa Farm).
