We are committed to sharing the freshest of Hudson Valley food as widely as possible with our local community. Mindful of affordability, the Market hosts vendors with a variety of price points. To increase accessibility and help address food insecurity, the Market accepts SNAP/EBT and matches purchases up to $10 when resources allow. The Market also makes regular donations of food to the Hastings Food Pantry.

market gleaning

Since 2010, the Market has partnered with the Hastings Food Pantry to bring fresh, local produce to neighbors in need. Every market day, 40 dozen eggs and 20 pounds of apples are donated. Additionally, we invite our shoppers to donate funds which we use to purchase fresh produce and protein from our vendors which we then deliver to the Pantry, located at the James V. Harmon Community Center. This model supports our farmers and our community.

You can support the gleaning program by volunteering to transport donated food from the Market to the Pantry, donating online through our button below, or underwriting our egg and apple donations. We are grateful to a variety of businesses for sponsoring our work with the Pantry in the past. If you or your company would like to do the same, please email us.

health bucks

To offset costs for shoppers who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP), the Market matches purchases up to $10, as resources allow. This program also helps farmers by growing their community of shoppers. You can support our effort to make fresh food accessible to all by donating to the Market's Health Bucks program.
