Happy New Year! Market tomorrow is INDOORS at the Community Center
dear shoppers, The Hastings Farmer's Market wishes you all a healthy and happy New Year.
We hope 2015 is the year you resolve to share more casual meals with friends and family. There's always room for more around your table.
Toward that end, an easy one-pot recipe for curried chicken with cashews that cries out for a side salad, a bowl of rice and guests...
A reminder that the market is OPEN & INDOORS tomorrow at the Community Center. The hours are 9 to 1 p.m.
We are happy to report that Consider Bardwell Cheese is back for the winter - while the goats at Painted Goat Farm enjoy a winter's rest from milking. Also, Larmchmont Charcuterie will be packing his country pate and beef bresaola - which you no doubt enjoyed at local parties in December.
PLEASE NOTE that although our printed schedule says that we are open on the 17th of January we will actually NOT have a market that day as the Community Center is not available to us that day.
After tomorrow's market, our NEXT market is on Jan. 31st. Please shop accordingly...Remember: farm-fresh eggs last longer than you think and most of our meats are sold frozen. Buy extra pickles, cheese and chutney.
Edenesque Almond Milks will also be joining our ranks tomorrow. Leslie Woodward uses only organic and - whenever possible - local ingredients for these healthy and delicious milks. Some of her flavors include: coconut maple vanilla (made with fresh coconut meat) and bee pollen and royal jelly and nutmeg & cardamom.
Also: please bring your own carry-out bags...Next month, plastic bags with handles will be banned in Hastings. May as well get in the good habit now....
See you at the market.
