Please welcome our newest vendor: Chatham Brewing!

Located in an industrial garage in a back alley in downtown Chatham, this low-profile, funky brewery has been wowing beer aficionados with its distinctly-flavored homemade brews like Amber Ale, 8 Barrel Ale, Scotch Ale, Porter, and the popular Maple Amber for years. The beer is brewed during the week and the humble "shop" is only open for a few hours each Saturday (though a sign outside the garage entrance reads:  "For Growler Emergencies, please call..."). Last spring, Chatham Brewing won the 2012 Matthew Vassar Brewers’ Cup for the Best Craft Beer Brewery in the Hudson Valley at TAP New York, the state’s largest craft beer festival and competition held in the Catskills. In addition to beer, they will also be offering their house root beer and hard cider. In other "liquid" news, Teaves Tea, returns tomorrow with their refreshing iced teas blended with local fruit.

All this should help you stay nice and cool for the Take Me To The River Festival. We hope you will swing by the market to pick up some cheese, bread, olives, fruit, tomatoes, prepared salads, and smoked duck to take to the all-day event at Draper Park. Madura Farms is slated to return tomorrow with their fantastic mushrooms and some of their more unusual offerings like purple carrots and string beans. Demetra Kontoulis will be selling her olive oil and tapenade tomorrow.

The Hastings Farmers Market  vendors will, once again, be contributing to a basket full of market goodies to be auctioned off at the festival. Make sure to put in a bid!

Tomorrow's music - Les Tappan Zigues starting at 10:30 a.m. ALSO - in honor of their Celebrate Children's Books Day event to be held on September 15th, Washington Irving's Sunnyside will be leading the story-time hour tomorrow from 10:15 to 11 a.m. The Library will be hosting its seasonal book sale. Come get some great reads to tuck into when the weather turns.

Thank you for your overwhelming response to our new t-shirts! We've ordered more. They are at the printer's and  we hope to have them next Saturday!

See you at the market!
