REALLY looking forward to the market tomorrow...
dear shoppers, I went to the Farmer's Market in beautiful Steamboat Springs Colorado last Saturday and guess what I bought?
Jalapeno jam (yum) and...earrings!
Indeed it was easier to find a jeweler or other crafter than a farmer or even a tomato or head of lettuce. (Thankfully, my sister's garden vegetable beds are thriving).
And, though, the locale was lovely - on the edge of the Yampa River - I am looking forward to seeing all the FARMERS and "food artisans" in Hastings tomorrow.
Late summer purple basil, heirloom tomatoes, eggplant, peppers and watermelon from Taliaferro Farms. And all the familiar faces that make our market so special, including Nancy from Honey Locust Farmhouse who is bringing her elderberry elixirs, honey and tomatoes in addition to her always-interesting seasonal jams.
