June 16th Market News

It's Father's Day on Sunday and if you're grilling you definitely need to stop by the market. Wil Hi is making their monthly visit with lamb chops, legs of lambs, ground lamb meat, and their handmade goat milk soaps and dryer balls. Pick up some chops for the grill and try this recipe with marjoram butter. You can substitute the marjoram with thyme or rosemary from the Deep Roots.

You can also pickup traditional American BBQ provisions like hot dogs from Southtown Farms and hamburgers from FarmEats. Don't forget the cheese- Cooperstown is bringing his pillowy Bloomie cheese.

Don't forget the veggies! Taliaferro will have the first summer squashes and Concklins will have what will probably be the last of the asparagus.

There is a kids cooking class with local chefs tomorrow from 9:30-10:30ish. Children 5 and over are welcome with a caregiver. Children will get Market money to shop the stalls and then will convene to make yummy lunches with their groceries.

Tomorrow is also Gleaning Day.  Please remember your neighbors in need and buy fresh produce for the folks who use the Hastings Food Pantry. Find the basket at the Market tent. Thank you for your generosity!

Milton performs...grab a pie from Dough Nation  and sit back to listen to his great sounds.

See you at the market!

p.s. Don't forget your food scraps for compost collection!
