July 20th Market News
Dear shoppers,
because of the extremely high temperatures forecast and our lack of shade on the market plaza, we will be closing the market EARLY on Saturday, at 11:30 a.m.
Please come to the market when the temperatures are still bearable and support our vendors who will be driving a long way for a shortened market.
This would be a very good day to buy cooling cucumbers for making to eat raw, pickled or cooked.
Tired of the same old cucumber/mint salad?
Saveur offers this collection of refreshing cucumber recipes including one for a tomato cucumber salad with a bracing fennel dressing and a tangy red pepper and cucumber slaw. (Perfect timing, Morgiewicz Produce is bringing their first peppers of the season this Saturday).
And since Neversink Spirits will be here this week, why not plop cucumber spears into a cooling gin cocktail?
Again, Saveur delivers a refreshing update on the classic gin & tonic.
Please visit our guest vendor Silvia McClean, of Silvia's Kitchen, who makes unforgettable Argentine desserts.
The knife sharpener will be here so bring your knives early for drop-off!
See you at the market!
