December 15th Market News

MARKET NEWS
Tomorrow is our LAST outdoor market of the season—we head indoors in January. We are out in the library lot from 9am-1pm, rain or shine, with some guest vendors and festive activities.  The carolers are returning this year to grace us with classics from the holiday songbook. Grab a cup of warm cocoa from Dutch Coffee and join in on the fun!

Alex's Crepes is making a special winter appearance, along with his sister (more on that below.) Make sure you get one last lemon sugar or nutella crepe to last you through the winter! It's also Larchmont Charcuterie's final visit of the season. Drop by his table to stock up on sauccsion sec, duck prosciutto and other French-style cured meats.

The knife sharpener visits! Make sure your blades are up to the task off all that late-night wrapping!

Lastly, this Saturday the market is doing its monthly collection of produce to donate to the Hastings Food Pantry. Please buy extra squash, potatoes, pies and bread for neighbors who need it. Thank you for your generosity!

Guest Vendors
Alex's sister Wanda is visiting from Provence and bringing her highly regarded organic beauty line with her. She handcrafts each product in her French workshop using only the finest, organic ingredients that she often grows or forages herself.

Running low on your olive oil reserves? .Kontoulis is in Greece for the olive harvest but luckily Arlotta Food Studio has stepped in for a guest appearance. Stock up for your own needs or get some sets for gifts.

Remember Pisticci's Full Circle Farm from last winter? They're back for one day only. Local Irvington resident Michael Forte originally started Full Circle Farm in Ossining to supply his NYC restaurant, Pisticci. Much to his delight, the farm has produced more than can be used at the restaurant. He's at the Irvington market-his home territory-normally but has agreed to fill in for our other greens vendor, who won't have enough from their hoop houses until January. In addition to beautiful mesculun mixes and winter greens, don't miss out on their homemade gnocchi and pesto.

Other Tidbits
No time to make cookies for a cookie exchange or for Santa? Grab a frozen holiday cookie dough log from Wave Hill Breads. Handmade and hand-rolled using the freshest ingredients and of course no preservatives, the logs come in 4 flavors: chocolate chip, oatmeal cranberry, snickerdoodle, and ginger molasses.
No baking skills? No worries. They come with instructions and are wrapped in parchment paper (which can be used on your baking sheet pan as paper liner). Brilliant!

Need some last minute gifts? Stop by the Market tent for tea towels, tshirts, boat bags, and even gift certificates!

See you at the Market!
