Good fall salads and spreads and the knife sharpener is in the house!

dear shoppers, Here are a few new and/or interesting things you can expect to find at tomorrow's market:

The Pure Food Sisters have just made a batch of broccoli rabe pesto using broccoli rabe from Taliaferro Farms. They're also using their kale for a hearty kale salad - just the ticket if you're looking for something a little lighter to nosh on at the market.

Taiim Falafel Shack is adding pomegranate seeds to their Middle Eastern Quinoa & Tabbuleh Salads this week. And they've just started making their edamame hummus again – only at the Hastings market – because, apparently, I can't stop talking about it.

Pura Vida has been bringing the most exquisite shrimp to the market.

Last week I made a hearty toss of Roaming Angus' garlic brats and Pura Vida shrimp in a puddle of spicy white beans with wilted arugula. It was the perfect dish after a day of apple picking.

This week, if the shrimp are still at market, I'm going to try this butternut squash and shrimp risotto recipe.
